Bethlehem Municipality signs its 90th twinning agreement with Suceava in Romania

The Mayor of Bethlehem Adv. Anton Salman and the Mayor of Suceava Ion Lungu signed today a twinning agreement to establish a bridge of cooperation and mutual understanding between the people of the two cities. The ceremony was held in Bethlehem Peace Center in the presence of the Head of Mission of the Representation Office of Romania in Palestine Catalin Tirlea, the Deputy Governor of Bethlehem Mohammed Taha, the Director of Bethlehem Local Government Directorate Shukri Radaydeh, the Member of the Palestinian Legislative Council  Fayez Al Saqqa, Bethlehem municipal  council members, Bethlehem Municipality General Director Anton Morcos, along with the representatives of the national security, police and various institutions.

In his speech, Salman focused on the importance of signing this agreement which will bring mutual benefits for Palestinian and Romanian communities, in addition to opening new doors for joint cooperation in the various fields such as economy, trade, sports, tourism, medicine, and cultural heritage preservation.

Lungu expressed his pleasure to be in Bethlehem for what it symbolizes for all Romanians, and mentioned some historical and demographic details concerning Suceava.
